What can I expect at the Sunday morning gathering?
Each Sunday gathering begins at 9:15am and lasts about an hour and thirty minutes. The atmosphere is casual, so wear whatever you normally wear. We care more about meeting you than how you are dressed. At North Point, you’ll see nearly every style of clothing.
Our gatherings center on God’s Word, the Bible. We read through portions of Scripture and mostly preach verse-by-verse through entire sections or books of the Bible, aiming to always proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, we pray and sing songs and hymns–both modern and historic–that are rooted in biblical language and theology. Read more about what the New Testament says that a church should do when they gather.
Our service is structured in a way that reflects on who God is, on how humans are sinful before Him, and on Jesus who forgives our sins. These three sections of the service each include scripture reading, songs and prayers to help us better understand God and the good news of Jesus. A few members from our church will publicly read a portion of scripture or pray a prayer of praise or confession. Everyone is welcome to participate in our gathering by listening and singing along.
What happens after the service?
Afterwards, you’ll find people lingering over coffee and snacks or enjoying lunch together in local restaurants and homes. If you are visiting with us, we’d love to meet you and help you get connected at our church or another gospel-preaching church in town. Guests are welcome to take home a complementary book explaining the gospel and a brochure with more information about our church. Let us know how we can help you and pray for you.
What about children?
We love children and want them to feel cared for. Our church members work together in nurturing and teaching children on Sundays. Your child’s safety is important to us.
Children ages 6 months to Pre-K can be checked in to their Sunday school class before the service starts.
Children from kindergarten through 5th grade join us for the beginning of the church service and are then dismissed to their Sunday school class before the sermon begins. We think it’s important for children of this age to participate with us, as a church family, in singing and in listening to God’s Word. Read more about this Sunday school class and our vision for children’s ministry.
